More Money By Asking NOW

Invoice quickly

At this point in our series, we have a hypothetical invoice that your client is expecting and you’ve sweetened the transaction with a discount for quick payment.

Your next step is to get your invoice out to the client as quickly as possible, since your client will have the afterglow of your successful work and your working relationship is likely at an all-time high.

This is when they most want to pay your invoice, since they value your work and may be considering your company for further work.

Make sure that the invoice clearly states the work that was contracted and any details that might be asked by the client upon receiving the invoice. Your goal should be to make the invoice so clear that your invoice has no questions that delay their payment.

Give a call first

Before the invoice is sent to your client, call them to see if there are any details that they need finalized and that you are sending their invoice over. Ask the manager to schedule payment as quickly as their accounts payable department will support.

Follow up with the client two days later to ask if they have any questions about the bill.

Once they are satisfied with the invoice, take this opportunity to ask if they have other needs that your company can take on as a new project. You might get more work just thru a courtesy call.

Bottom line

Quickly getting a final invoice to your client will get you paid faster, make sure your client is satisfied with the work and may get your company more work.
